About Buddy

Adoption Fee: $500
Lab mix
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Howdy, I'm Buddy ~ my foster mom also likes to call me Barnaby, and says I'm like a doggy snuffleupagus, since I follow her around everywhere very quietly. I'm an easygoing neutered black male lab mix, with a quirky personality that shows itself to those I like. I think I'm about 5 years old, and weigh about 60 lbs. When I was rescued, I was found with a severely damaged, necrotic tail and unusual wounds to my side and rear end, which the vets who treated me think were older injuries sustained from a car accident. After surgery to cut down my tail and mend my wounds, the vets determined that I have permanent nerve damage which affects my bladder'ۥso another nickname I don't mind is 'Dribbles,' since it is usually said with much affection ٪ I sometimes wear a belly band (fancy name for a doggy diaper) when I'm in the house, but since I love to go and be outside, I am often left to roam in my 'natural state' and rest on washable doggy beds in the house. If you were torn between getting a baby yak, mini bison, or a dog, no worries-you get a yak-like dog who can yodel! I LOVE to let you know that I'm excited to eat when it's dinnertime! As you can see in my video, I'm a sturdy guy who loves to chill around you, roam outside, and of course, eat. I get along okay with my foster mom's pack, but am very dominant and can be aggressive around other dogs, especially males; honestly I don't really like other dogs, so I would be happiest and safest as the solo dog in a household. Once I meet a human, I seek out head rubs and hugs, even with kiddos. Despite my back-end dribbling condition, I'm housetrained, can use a doggy door like a pro, am also crate trained, and I recently got my teeth cleaned, so I'm ready for lots of kisses! Patient, loyal, and irresistible, I may be kinda funny looking, but I promise more than meets the eyes when it comes to what I can bring to your home and heart. Make sure to watch my Youtube video to see me in action and start falling in love! Adopt me and you won't regret it ٪ ' *All of The Right to Live dogs are fostered locally in San Antonio Texas and will be transported to other states to their new families upon adoption. We believe fostering dogs and not having them decompress in a kennelled environment is more beneficial for the dogs and builds their trust and companionship in a family situation. Adoption fee includes transportation costs, previous/current medical treatment (spay/neuter, etc.) and a health certificate for cross-state travel*
