About Denver

Great Dane
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Denver is a 4 year old male great dane. The only thing he wants in this world is to be with you and to be loved. If you are looking for a 'velcro dog' he is your boy for sure. This sweet boy has the occasional burst of energy and will play with his foster sibling, but for the majority of the day he is content to be sleeping on his dog bed or directly on the carpet. He is very respectful of boundaries and has made no attempt to get on the furniture. Denver isn't quite aware of his size and for this reason shouldn't be left alone with smaller children. That said Denver has been around two children (ages 10 and 12) and was very calm around them. He also came from a home with younger children and had interaction with them as well. Denver is good about letting you know when it is time for him to go for a walk/potty break. He will stand by the door to be let out. He enjoys going for walks. Being a 'velcro dog' he likes to have some part of his body touch you at all times during the walk, but he is well mannered and doesn't pull. Denver has also made great progress with crate training. When he came to us would 'flip out' if shut in a crate and certainly wouldn't go into a crate of his own accord. He now goes into his crate with minimal coaxing and is content to sleep there quietly all night long. Denver is currently living with a female Great Dane and enjoys playing with her. He was in a temporary foster home with a small dog and ignored the small dog and was a little intimidated. Lol! He is good with cats. Denver is looking for a family to foster him through his heartworm treatment and once he's cleared of the nasty parasites, if he's a good fit they will be given the option to adopt. Denver is neutered and UTD on vaccines and preventatives. He's currently in a foster home in Knoxville TN. We are currently accepting foster families in GA TN AL KY OH IN IL SC NC VA DE. We are willing to consider surrounding states. Email [email protected] if you're interested in fostering to adopt Denver
