About Archie

Adoption Fee: $375
Cairn mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

This boy might look familiar! This is Archie, formerly Tiger. He originally came to us from a bad situation where his owner was threatening to shoot him rather than get him the vet care he needed after being hit by a car. Luckily someone was aware of the situation and got him out of there and to us! He could only walk on three legs, and had surgery to fix his injuries. When he was all fixed up he was adopted, but was recently returned for resource guarding. We have not seen that behavior, and did not see that prior to him being adopted, however we are being careful with him knowing that he possibly has this issue. He has not displayed any aggression at his foster home, either toward other dogs or people. Archie is a 4 year old, 10 pound black and tan terrier mix. He has become an adorable scruffy guy! He is a very loving, playful boy who will jump and dance around when he gets excited. He gets along fine with other dogs generally, but would be perfectly happy as an only dog or in a home with maybe one other small dog. Too many dogs make him a little anxious. He has not been around cats since he has been with us and should not go to a home with children. Archie loves tummy rubs, carrying a toy around with him, and naps in the sunshine. He knows how to use the doggy door to go out to potty and will also stand at the door to let you know he needs to go out. Archie knows how to walk on a leash, and loves to ride in the car. He thinks every time you leave he needs to go too! He prefers to sleep in a dog bed or on a couch or chair at night. Archie is up to date on shots, neutered, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. He is a cuddly playful little guy who will make someone a great companion!
