This post is going out with a prayer that one angel will see this and call to save this baby . McKnight is timestamped for Friday 9/10@10AM. He's available for adoption or rescue! He has a ton of energy and enthusiasm for life! He'll need an active household that enjoys going for long walks and play. He's very smart and food motivated. McKnight is a good boy who's just not cut out for a half kennel at the shelter. Please text Kat at 516 457-3678 if you can help save this boy by fostering or adopting .Acct is open from 10am-6pm daily for walk up adoption appointments. Dog meet video below. McKnight ACCT-A-99635 Dog - Mixed Breed (Large) Sex : Male Age : 1Y / 4M Weight : 54.00 lbs Location: Large Dog Kennel, D1 Adult-Only Home Preferred, Appears Housebroken McKnight ACCT-A- 99635 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to behavior concerns. McKnight must have confirmed placement with an adopter or rescue partner by Friday, September 10, 2021 10:00am. McKnight is an adult male, large sized mixed breed dog. McKnight surrendered by his owner of 3 months. McKnight was reported by his previous owners to be friendly, social, and a fan of toys. In care at the shelter, McKnight has rapidly begun to demonstrate stereotypic behaviors that indicate behavioral decline related to stress, including becoming over aroused quickly, mounting handlers and escalating to biting the leash while jumping up toward the handler's body and being difficult to redirect with high value treats or toys . I have a video of a volunteer with this angel and he is perfect !! Nor sure if neutered but being fixed will help with some of these behaviors plus he is just a pup nothing that can't be worked on he is a puppy !!! Please text me to send !!!It is important to note that this behavior may be shelter induced, since it was not indicated by his previous home. Previous owner did not have any of these issues , shelter is high stress for these dogs especially when they lost everything and now on Friday this puppy will leave in a garbage bag if we don't find anybody . If placed, he should go directly into an adoptive or foster home, vs. a kennel environment, which would further contribute to his deterioration. This shelter already killed many adoptable dogs this week please don't let them get this sweetheart puppy . Will transport to neighboring states . Run to the rescue were love and peace will follow .
