About Moose

Moose Lab Mix Male 2 year old 65 lbs. Hi friends, my name is Moose! I'm about as cute as they come and I can't wait to find my amazing forever family. I didn't have the best start to life and I was kept outside nearly every day and night. So being in my foster home indoors and so loved has just been amazing! I adore affection and I just am soaking up all the love and making up for that outdoor life for the past two years. Because of my past, I'm starting a bit from square one in a lot of my training. So I'm looking for a human who can really go 'back to basics' with me on positive reinforcement training classes, offer me lots of fun daily exercise, and just a commitment and understanding that I'm learning a lot and am a bit of an overgrown puppy without a lot of manners right now. I'm a typical Lab with lots of energy so I'm looking for a home where my human can give me daily exercise (running, hiking, playing...I love it all!) I'm eager to learn-I just need a human who is willing to teach me and understand that I'm a bit of a 'blank slate' in terms of my training. But the good news is that I am potty trained (yea!) and I've been doing great being left home alone when my foster family is away. I enjoy playing with other dogs and I've even done well hanging out with a cat! I do find that another playful dog is important as I don't really have the boundaries yet so know when someone doesn't want to play. I also get a bit worked up on leash when I see another dog and sometimes new people, which my foster mom said is because I'm frustrated and want to go interact (so that shows in barking and pulling!) So some good ole' leash training is important to me as well and a human who is ok with a dog who has a big ole bark when in those situations. Since I haven't met young children and because I'm a bit of a 'bull in a china shop' right now, I would do best in a home without kids under age 10 until I've had more experience with them.
