About Simba

Hi there, my dog's name is Simba. He is a Chihuahua- Dachshund Mix. He was rescued from a shelter when he was 1 1/2 years old. He acts just like a human child sometimes! He knows all sorts of tricks like sit, stay, speak, spin, lay down, Bang (play dead), roll over, back, touch, and sit by me (sit at my feet). He is a cuddle bug and loves being on the couch and will lay under the covers with you. He loves hikes which I gave him a lot before he started developing some issues.. The s/o I was with abused him without me knowing. He developed issues with men shortly after. He's been perfectly fine with women on the muscular side, though. He has some anxieties and some leash aggression and he absolutely does not like other dogs, kids, or cats. He's been fine with my other small animals. He doesn't even pay attention to them. I found it strange since he grew up with dogs, cats, and children and was fine. Then one day he just snapped. I've done some obedience training with him and training to specifically pinpoint the issues and work on them, and have taken him to three different vets who all say to either pull out his teeth or euthanize him. I don't want to do that. If someone out there would be willing to work with him, he would make a really good dog. The reason for me rehoming him is I'm about to get married and start a family. I don't even want to think about what he would do to a baby if he had the chance and I don't want to risk it. I would like him to find a loving home and I'm hoping someone out there would be willing to work with him. The only food I've been able to give him without problems is Taste of the Wild Ancient Stream. He has a very sensitive stomach and very sensitive skin. He would come with a small bag of his food, his crate, some of his toys, and his collar and leash. I'd also prefer if I could come see where he'd be living and of course have a meeting to see if he is a good fit for you.
