Hi! My name is Princess Pebbles, but I go by Princess. I am extremely timid and fearful when I first meet people, but I am very sweet. I absolutely LOVE children, boys and girls, and older ladies, I prefer no men. I will bark at them, a lot. I spent all of my life (first 4 years)with my single elderly human mom until Thanksgiving 2020, when my mom sadly passed away from cancer. (Princesses mom was my cousins grandmother.) I was taken in by my current guardian, and they have taken very good care of me, for almost a year but it isn't seeming to work out. I cannot get used to the man of the house. He is scary to me, and makes me bark very high pitched and repetitive every time he talks or walks into the room. Even though they tell me he'd love on me more than everyone in the house. I also live with two younger pups who are very trained and do whatever they are asked. I'm not sure why I don't follow along? My anxiety causes me to not come when I'm called and I get very nervous and tend to cower and bite or run, and keep running farther away and I tend to nip when I am getting picked up. I think I need a one on one guardian with more time to help me be the great dog I know I can be. Princess would be an amazing dog for an elderly widow, or a no men household. I worry that if she stays here with us, if something was to happen in a hurry or in a emergency she would put us or herself in a dangerous situation because she runs, and doesn't come when she's called. I took her in not knowing the closure she had as a dog, her first time going on grass was in our yard when we got her. She was always in a house in a crate or on a lap, and to go potty she went in a round pen in the garage on potty pads. (But we found out she loves going on walks, she just acts very odd when it is time to put on her harness or collar?) I love this girl, but she is a pretty special dog with needs, and I just don't have time to rehabilitate her. I am home schooling my son and running a large property and can't give her the attention she needs to improve her as a companion pet. Most importantly I worry about her safety and happiness she scares me and my family every time she escapes, it escalates all of our hearts! Also she seems on edge when my husband or other men come around. Unfortunately,It's just not a good fit. I tried. I hope someone can help Prinnie out, she's really a sweetie when she's relaxed.
