About Dodger

Almost Home Foster Kennels is currently accepting applications for Dodger. Almost Home Foster Kennels is a 501c3, not-for-profit rescue. We provide a haven for pups and dogs that are listed on euthanasia and urgent lists. Our dogs are brought up to date on vaccinations, they are microchipped and are spayed and neutered. Dodger is a 7-year-old Treeing Walker Coonhound. Dodger has lived the past 7 years on a chain, tied to a dilapidated doghouse. Dodger's owner wanted to put a bullet in him because he refused to hunt. Dodger's problem wasn't not his ability or 'want to' hunt, but his state of health; flea infested had caused him to scratch himself raw. He was miserable. Dodger has been fully vetted and is now looking for his furever home and family. Dodger will require a securely, fenced yard. He is progressing on his leash training and with a strict routine, he is managing his house training nicely. He is a work in progress. Dodger weighs approximately 60#. He loves attention. Dodger gets along with medium to large dogs. Because Coonhounds are bred to hunt, we will not place Dodger in a home with small dogs or a home where he would have access to cats.
