About Pongo

Meet Pongo! If you're looking for a shy but sweet, mellow young Rez dog, this could be your guy! Pongo was found fending for himself by the highway on the Navajo reservation with his sister Sissy. It's taken them some time to learn to trust people but Pongo has proved to be a very sweet pup with a lot of potential. He can take some time to warm up to new people and new dogs, but with a little patience he becomes very affectionate and loves to play with toys and other dogs. He's well behaved in the house and is pretty good with cats. He is also doing well with learning to walk on leash and load into the car, but he'll need some work just like any adopted animal! I'd you've got a little patience and maybe another young dog who needs a playmate, Pongo would make a great companion! He's sure to be a great adventure buddy once he gains some confidence and bonds with his forever human. Pongo is located near Steamboat Spring, CO but transport may be available. He is a little less than a 1 year old, probably a mix of cattle dog and shepherd. He's a nice medium size, around 40 lbs. He is neutered, vaccinated, dewormed and de-ticked!
