About Kahlua

Meet Kahlua! She's a very special brindle beauty looking for a calm, safe and loving home. She was surrendered to the shelter as her owners moved and were not able to take her. Shortly after she arrived, we discovered she is diabetic. Kahlua needs an adopter willing provide lifelong proper care for her medical needs. How would we describe this magnificent being? Kahlua is a gentle giant and stubborn in the silliest way! She is loyal and adventurous. Kahlua is also a lazy couch potato in need of a very (large) soft bed with a human to cover her with blankets! She enjoys her outside time where she gracefully prances along on her walks. She is excellent on leash and likes to take her time. Once she trusts, she soaks up your affection and loves a great massage! Now let's tell you about her medical needs. Kahlua is regulated with insulin injections, twice daily. She has skin allergies and is on a prescription diet. Kahlua also has chronic dry eye and needs daily eye medications. This sounds like a lot of care, and it is, but we can tell you it will be worth every ounce of time and effort, as she is the biggest love. Kahlua has the following home environment needs: - Needs a calm adult-only home (16 and older) - She is not compatible with apartment/complex living. She needs a quiet, rural setting. - She must meet any potential dog siblings.
