About Lyla May

Lyla May is a very affectionate German Shepherd/collie mix. She is ten and starting to slow down with her energy. She enjoys relaxing and sleeps a lot in between playtime. We have two little children in her 'herd' that she's very good with but has several times nipped at them when they are running in the yard (never a full bite!) ... can't take the shepherd out of her but I fix that by giving her a toy so she's playing and running with us but can't use her mouth. She is protective of her family and loves us but we are unfortunately moving several states away to a rental and cannot move and travel with any pets. She hasn't been around any other dogs so she probably can't get along with any now in her older age. She will bark at strangers and other dogs in the neighborhood. She has anxiety during storms and firework displays! She's very lovable and just wants to be loved!
