About Zoo

Adoption Fee: $350
Border Collie / Greyhound
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

Zoo has come to us thru a local shelter. She was one of several dogs that had to be transferred out of state due to Hurrincane Ida. So yes she is a hurricane victim. Zoo is a year old, fully vetted, even chipped. She is dog social, on the submissive side with dogs and people. However, she does have sight hound in her, and is already chasing sky raisins(flies) and lizards. So no small toddlers, small dogs or cats. I have a calm 13 pound chi that she does just fine with. She is just starting to play with some of the other dogs here. She play bows and darts in and out like a herder. She is motion activated. Acts like she has not been indoors and seen a lot of things. Has a very curious nature. Loud barking dogs scare her and she will retreat into a crate. Loves her crate. Yes she is housebroken, attempting to learn a dog door in less than 24 hours. So Im going to say this pup is extremely smart. Once she is comfortable, I think her activity level will up. Right now we are up to moderate. She will need other dogs calm and friendly but NOT crazy high drive. A fenced yard will be a must for this girl She has looked at the top of my stockade 6 foot but has not even attempted to jump on it. Loves people and seeks attention, the potential for neediness does exist, and would well not be bought into. This dog loves the water. She will have potential for dock diving, lurecoursing, perhaps scent work. Border sight hounds are a common cross for performance dogs. Her temperament seems even keel at this time, she is very alert watches everything. She is not a dog for two walks a day nor for dog parks. Border collie/ sighthound breed experience will be necessary to adopt this gal, and she will need a home that can understand the mental and physical needs of these breeds. Currently located in Bradenton.
