About Emilia

Emilia is a sweet and energetic 4 year old, 48 lb. Collie/Flat-Coated Retriever mix, who just wants to be with her people and play. She loves going for walks - the longer the better and is great on leash! She just started learning basic commands and is a very quick study! Emilia is happy to sit for a treat and will excel with someone who continues working on her training with her. In the house she loves playing with toys and happily lays with them and carries them around. She is fairly tall and can reach tabletops and counters with ease and tries to sneak items that she thinks she can chew like remotes, socks, books, etc but redirects well to her toys. This girl can be jumpy when excited, so it would be best if she is in a home without small/young children. She is house trained and happy to settle in for a cuddle or nap on the couch after playtime. She loves the fenced yard at her home so she can run freely, and while she is tall, she has made no attempt to jump over the fence. While not overly barky, Emilia will find her voice and let you know when anyone walks by or comes to the door. She takes a little time to warm up to new people, but once she does she will be your best friend and shadow, following you wherever you go. Emilia would be happy to accompany her new family on hikes or other adventures and would make a great jogging companion. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources.
