About Pistol

Bengal
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Recently Pistol joined Bengal Rescue's program and went to a loving Foster home. He came into our program because his Bengal buddy had passed away, and he was suffering from separation anxiety. He wasn't eating the way that he should be, and his family had to move to a small place where their very large dog also resided. His owner reluctantly admitted that he was not thriving in their environment and needed a home where it was less stressful for him. Once he got to his Foster Mom, we learned a whole lot more about him. His Foster says that Pistol is a very loving, highly energetic boy who likes to trot (literally has the cutest horse-like trot) and will lead the way when you have food in your hands. He loves to play chase with other cats, jump on anything and follow his human friend around. He LOVES conversation and will generally give you a definitive answer every time! He loves affection, though he may get up, wander and circle back again for more loving. He especially appreciates chin rubs and will tell you how much. Pistol absolutely loves bird watching and will chat away like a broken record just at the site of a bird from the window. You will know when birds are in view! Pistol also loves water and will hang out near all waterworks when his human friend is near. He appreciates feathered and furry-ended toys that involve his human's interaction. He LOVES attention and therefore is well suited to an environment where he has plenty of love throughout the day. Pistol is really not fond of dogs. He lived with two dogs, one of which was returned to the shelter for biting; the other was a very huge dog that made him super nervous, so his owner had him living in the laundry room after they moved to their new place. He did live with a Bengal cat who he loved dearly, but when he met his Foster's Bengal, he was definitely trying to dominate. He may do OK with a mellow cat who will let him be in charge. Pistol has not been around children. For this reason we think if he goes to a home with children, they would need to be 10 or older and must have been taught proper handling / play techniques. Pistol is neutered, front-paw declawed, and up to date on shots. Recently he had a full blood panel / health check. His Veterinarian absolutely adores him and reports that he is very very healthy.
