About Nellie

This red stunner is Nellie, a young Australian Cattledog gal who was born in November, 2020. Nellie weighs about 40 pounds. Nellis is smart, food motivated, and learns quickly. In her foster home, she has learned sit, down, wait, and leave it. Once Nellie waits or downs,��%BD%A0 she is now waiting for 'release' to come through a doorway. She is working on calm and quiet.��%BD%A0Nellie is house and crate trained. Nellie easily enters her crate when told 'In' and she knows to 'wait' until released when the door is opened.��%BD%A0 A car accident necessitated that Nellie lose a hind leg, making her a trippd. That doesn't slow her down! Nellie loves to fetch. She is good on leash and will make a great walking partner. She loves to go on adventures. She also is a good passenger on the car, plus is able to jump in on her own. Click on the red YouTube button to watch Nellie in action. Nellie likes to meet new people. She does grab wrists with her whole mouth when excited to greet a person, but she is beginning to understand this is not okay.��%BD%A0Her new person/people will need to be firm about this too. Likewise, she wont be a fit for kids under high school age. Nellie is good with other dogs of all sizes. Nellie has been around horses and other ranch animals so she would be great with a family living that life. As for cats outside, she thinks they are for chasing, so she likely isn't a fit for a home with cats. Nelie will alert when the delivery truck stops at the house. However, she hasnt been a barker when outside in the yard. Nellie will benefit from a family who will keep working with her. Her new home should be ready to remind her to not get so excited when coming into the house. She can be reminded that it's not polite to paw at people. Lastly, her people need to remind her that it's not ok to guard tables and chairs from the other dogs. This is all easy to manage and she continues to get better and better as she is reminded. Nellie can catch food in her mouth and gives high fives. She loves belly rubs and ear scratches. Nellie is a sweet girl and with more loving training will become your heart dog. Nellie is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and ready to meet potential adopters. She is located in San Diego County. Adopters must be able to meet and adopt here. We do not ship our dogs. A home visit and vet reference are required.
