Most have never lived in a house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care.Most of these dogs are not socialized and need to be cornered to be picked up, so are not suitable for people with physical disabilities or suffer from PTSD. They need folks who will make them the center of their world and help them learn to trust before even attempting to train.�%A0 Please do not apply if you do not meet the requirements of the dogs we rescue.�%A0However, they�%A0will learn�%A0with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion.We state any known health issues, all are altered unless there is a medical reason not to, which we will advise, any known medical issues addressed, are microchipped, are UTD on all vaccines and have been checked out by at least one veterinarian, usually two. We do not guarantee the health of any of our rescued dogs.Hi! My name is Oscar. I'm a Cairnoodle (poodle and cairn terrier mix). I'm 6 years old and weigh 19 lbs.�%A0 My owner died and I was left with someone who was not a dog person. He was going to have me put down. I was only fed cheapo dollar store treats and scraps from his dinner plate. I got no exercise. This horrible diet caused me to become very overweight. The vet says I should only weigh about 12 lbs! I have some fatty masses all over my body, but I do have a beautiful chocolate coat, and big adorable ears! My temperament is calm and sweet. I'm not super snuggly and don't like to be picked up. I spend my days in my foster home by napping, and slowly exploring in the yard.�%A0 I could be a great companion for someone who wants to give me a calm, comfortable life. I'm good with other dogs but probably not kids.
