About Jack

Hello, my mothers physical ability and vision has been declining over the years and is wanting to move into assisted living for her safety. Sadly, she can not bring her boy with her. This is Jack, she rescued him from a shelter 5 years ago because she felt by the way he looked he was the most damaged of all needing a good home, and she wasn't wrong. He was definitely abused to an extreme degree before she rescued him. Very skittish and scared, especially of men. Though he has loosened up quite a bit with me. He is NOT violent but he does hide, cower and bark a great deal, over the years has NEVER bitten her, me, my daughter, or my wife and even visitors even when we play and get in his face. If he doesn't like you he will stay away and hide. After a few days of getting him he was attached to my mother and would not leave her side AT ALL(still doesn't) and would even climb on the chair and wrap himself around her neck and shoulders. He is a very sweet boy when he let's his guard down but is very scared of strangers, he sounds mean some times but has never hurt anybody. It breaks her heart to let him go but with her health the way it is its getting to much for her to give him the life he deserves. I know this is a stretch with his issues but she doesn't want him to go to another shelter, he deserves better than that. He loves doing zoomies around the house, soup bones and belly/face rubs. He will come with a crate, toys, food and a few other things. He doesn't like cats and is very barky with unknown dogs but when we brought our dog over for the first time he was surprisingly calm an, well...humpy. He weighs 45lbs, neutered, microchipped and very athletic. If you would like to meet him please let me know.
