About Godiva

Do you enjoy fine chocolates? We do! Whether you're talking about candy or rat terriers, our vote for one of the finest chocolates goes to Godiva! Our four-legged chocolate-colored Godiva is just 5 years old, 15 lbs., and full of life! She's always wagging her tail and happy to see you. She loves to play with the dogs in her foster home and with her foster dad on the couch, but she's also a big fan of naps when the time comes. She hopes you have a friendly canine playmate for her, someone who's easygoing because strongly assertive dogs just make her submissive rather than playful. She also hopes you have a big fenced yard, where she can bark and chase squirrels. Occasionally Godiva can show sensitivity to being touched, and she'll try to avoid you or run and hide. You'll need to be able to read her cues to know when she's feeling uncomfortable. Since young children typically don't understand canine body language, she shouldn't live in a home with little kids. On the other hand, her energy level and love of traveling by car make Godiva an ideal buddy for an active couple or family with older children who like to get outdoors and go places. Godiva learns quickly and was obviously a loved pet at one time because she was taught to dance for a treat! She hasn't mastered 'sit' yet, but she will turn a circle for you and it's very cute! She also has an adorable underbite! Godiva is one sweet treat that you'll find hard to resist.
