About Mona

Mona is an affectionate and chonky girl whose favorite things to do are cuddling with people and playing with puzzle toys. She is very sweet towards people and doesn't mind being handled (eg. being picked up, putting on a collar, etc). Although she's 11 years old, she at times still has the energy of a younger dog and will play excitedly with you. She loves going on walks and sniffing new scents (and snorts like a very cute pig). When not playing, she will either cuddle with you or relax by herself in a comfy bed. She also does well alone when we're gone for a couple of hours, especially if given puzzle toys. When you come home, she will greet you with a lot of cute butt wiggles and little hops! Mona is very smart and food motivated. When she came to us, she didn't know any basic commands. But in a couple of days and some treats, she's been able to learn several skills such as 'sit' and 'leave it.' She also does really well in the car and is up for any new adventures or relaxing getaways. She's great with strangers and does well with urban noises, but is insecure around other dogs (not sure about cats). She would be best as the only dog in the home. Overall, Mona would be a great companion for someone who is looking for a sweet, people-loving dog, and who can take her out on walks to help her get her figure back.
