Bruce is a 6 year old, 65 pound heeler/shepherd mix. Neutered, UTD on vaccines and microchipped. He likes daily activity, and loves the trail to be by your side while you hike or mountain bike. He enjoys the water, the snow, or just hanging out outside. He is crate trained, and knows multiple commands. Bruce like his own personal space and doesn't seek out too many cuddles, but enjoys being near his person with some calm pets and ear scratches. He does fine with new people coming in to the house, but is nervous with young children that may not understand Bruce's need for space, quiet, and slower movements. Bruce has a history of dog and person reactivity, and does have a bite history. With two little kids inside the house, and lots of dog and elderly pedestrians outside in his new neighborhood, Bruce's stress has increased, and he is struggling in his ever changing and unpredictable space. He has recently started on a daily medication, and has begun some more specific training to help with his reactivity, including muzzle training. Because of Bruce's bite history and multiple triggers, Bruce needs a quiet home without young children, and a savvy owner willing to continue his training and mitigate his environment. He would do best in a rural setting, where he can have less exposure to the hustle and bustle of a busy neighborhood. Other non-dominant dogs may be fine, with a meet and greet necessary. We truly feel that Bruce is capable of thriving in a quieter environment where his triggers and environment can be better controlled and his general stress lessened. Will include his remaining meds, food, dog bed, muzzle, and harness.
