*** Spring Into Love ADOPTION FEE DISCOUNT ! *** *** TERRIFIC 'FETCH' BUDDY !! *** 'BLANCO' is a super cute, 1.5 yr. old, 60 lb., Labrador Retriever mix male we rescued from a very high kill dog pound. Blanco had suffered neglect; was skinny and malnourished when we rescued him but we've gotten him well on the road to wellness and put many pounds on him with great groceries! Because of this history, he could be territorial of his food with other dogs still for awhile. Blanco is a dear: very, very sweet and loving, craving affection and acceptance. There is a heart-tugging 'baby boy' quality to his personality. He is still a pup so there is youthful energy, playfulness and enthusiasm, so an active and patient home would be required. He LOVES to play 'fetch', and this in the ideal way to bond with him, bringing out more and more of his sweetness and eagerness to please and be with you. Blanco was, initially, fearful of other dogs but has blossomed in the companionship of equally kind, good natured, slightly older & gentle playstyle dogs. (His best buddy and playmate in rescue foster home is 'Campy', who has been so good for Blanco). A calm, quiet, confident owner home with a slightly older, equally submissive, male dog of equal or slightly smaller size would be ideal, so he could continue to gain confidence and blossom. Blanco has not been cat-tested. He is very kind in nature, but with his youth, we advise a home with kids in the teenage years. Blanco is neutered, fully vaccinated, de-wormed, on monthly heart-worm preventative, crate-trained and house-trained. This rescue does not do it's own 'shots' ... all medical care is done by a licensed, certified Veterinarian or done under their direct supervision (ex., monthly heartworm treatments &/or deworming). All of our rescued dogs have been on a nutritional regime which includes high quality food and supplements (ex., probiotics; vitamins, etc). This is done to bolster their immune systems and overall health; the result benefits their adoptive family with a pooch who has a lustrous coat, bright shiny eyes, and happy and healthy disposition.
