About Taylor Josie

Taylor was adopted out as a kitten through our rescue three years ago. Unfortunately during her journey of growing up, she became obese. With being obese she was having some health issues. To put it bluntly, she was carrying some fat stores in her private area that were trapping bacteria and causing infection. The veterinary staff that saw her with her adoptive family kept telling them that she needed to lose weight. Every time she would go back she would not be any less heavy. They decided to return her to us so we could do what we needed to do to get her better. Although it was very sad that she lost her home, we feel it was for the best! We are not quite certain what and how much she was eating at her previous home. All we know is she came back to us at 21 1/2 pounds. She is now down to a much healthier 16 pounds. We didn't even put her on a diet. She's had food readily available in her foster room this whole time. The weight is just coming off naturally. With the weight being shed, the fat stores in her private area are also diminishing. We gave her one course of antibiotics, and she has done fantastic! We do believe that she does need to lose approximately 3 to 4 more pounds. We don't think it's necessary that she has to do that within our rescue. As long as you are willing to monitor her weight and limit her food if need be she is ready for her own home! If you are willing, it would probably be best if you continue to feed what she has available to her at the moment. Whatever is happening with us is working! Miss Taylor Josie is a very social gal! She loves to play and she does okay with other cats. She does like to be the queen bee, so she likely won't be found cuddling up with your other animals. But she can cohabitate with them. She is the most adorable young lady ever! A lover of fun with so much love in her soul!
