About Simba

American Staffordshire Terrier / Boxer
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

We got a desperate email from Alisha who just saved a pup named Simba from going to the shelter in a county where BSL takes the lives of many pitties ٪%81 'This past week I was informed that someone was moving to a new state and trying to get rid of their 9 month old Pit bull Terrier Mix. The shelters were full and the owner was threatening to leave him on side of the road.' They have had Simba for a week now but due to BSL need to find him a new home ASAP before reports him and he is seized by animal control. 'Simba is house/crate trained, cuddly and has a really relaxed personality. He knows commands such as sit, stay, leave it and lay down. During work hours he has no issue playing by himself or quietly laying on your feet while your at the computer. He has been sleeping cage free in our home and we have not had any accidents or mishaps! He is gentle when playing even when he gets really excited. He also does well when left alone in the house for a few hours.' He is neutered, up to date and currently weighs 55 pounds. The family is working with him on socialization as his previous owner did not. He takes a minute to warm up to new people but then he is your best bud. 'He would do well with a family that has a fenced in backyard and is willing to put a little extra time to get him acclimated to his new environment. He should be in a pet free home and have owners who are already familiar with dogs. He is food motivated and loves getting praised. While he can be a little nervous in his new environment he enjoys being outside, especially during our nighttime runs. There is less stimulation at night so he is able to relax a bit more, I've noticed that he is becoming more relaxed during day time runs as well. He is such a sweet, goofy and cuddly boy and is deserving of a loving home. If I could I would keep him but like I said his breed is illegal in my county. If you are able to help Simba get out of the county please contact Alisha at 301-535-9053.
