About Rover

Adoption Fee: $250
Australian Cattle Dog mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

The R in Rover stands for Resilience, a quality that this special boy emanates every day! He is a 2 year old Cattle Dog mix who was originally trapped as a stray, and it was soon clear that he had likely never been touched by humans before. Rover was terrified of being touched and would do anything he could to get away. Since then, he has spent time in a foster home slowly learning how to trust, and over the past few months has truly blossomed into a loving and goofy boy. He still gets nervous and jumpy, but will regularly seek out affection from people he trusts, and even enjoys a good belly rub! He does well with both dogs and cats, and will need another confident dog in the home to help him feel comfortable. He will need a very patient family to continue working with him on building up his confidence and helping him feel comfortable in new situations. He has learned to walk well on leash once he is comfortable with his people, but due to his initial fearfulness will require a securely fenced in yard to go out in while he warms up. Rover is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and negative for heartworm. His adoption fee is $250. If you think Rover may be the right addition for your family, please email us at [email protected].
