About Luella

Luella, a one year old Chihuahua mix, was nearly full term in her pregnancy when she was abandoned at a local animal shelter along with her two pals, Lloyd and Lyra. The shelter contacted us and we quickly sent one of our volunteers to pick them up. Luella spent the past several weeks in a foster home where she gave birth to two tiny puppies. Lloyd and Lyra have both recently been adopted. Now that the puppies are weaned, it's time for sweet Luella to find a home of her own. Luella is very dear to her foster mom who has fallen in love with this precious little pup. Prior to giving birth, she did well with all the other dogs and cats in the foster's home. Understandably, Luella became protective once the pups were born. She would bark and not allow the other pets in the home near. In a new home and away from her pups, Luella should again be fine with other pets. If you currently own a small calm dog, we can arrange a playdate to see if they are compatible. Luella would do best with an adult or family with older children. Preferably, with someone that is home most of the day. This pup loves attention and will never be far from your side. She forms a tight bond with her owner. She only weighs ten pounds and enjoys snuggling and sharing your bed at night. Luella is housebroken and prefers a home with a fenced in yard. If you're looking for a loving small companion, Luella would be a good choice
