About Ashton

Adoption Fee: $125
Domestic Cat
Age: Young Kitten
Sex: Male

Ashton (DOB May 5, 2021, male black, dsh) is the last kitten left of his litter. He and his siblings were taken into a human home after a raccoon or coyote attacked their mom and she didn't come back. They were very vocal and quite a handful. Shortly after, they were brought into the care of one of our fosters. Ashton was one of the biggest and loudest of his siblings, always yelling for food and attention. His rambunctious spirit and climbing tendencies caused him a slight injury when he was young, which he fully recovered from. During his recovery, he enjoyed lots of lap snuggles and love from his foster mom. He still has kitten zoomies and loves to jump and climb on and into things. He climbs into dryers and dishwashers because he is so curious! He has been an enormous cuddlebug ever since his injury and follows his foster mom just about everywhere. When he isn't sleeping near or on his foster mom, he can usually be found napping on a stack of clean towels. When he is playing, he is playing with other fosters or chasing small balls and toys around. He can often be heard 'crying' while carrying one of his favorite toys (his 'babies') in his mouth. Ashton unfortunately has also shown signs of dental issues. Initially, it started when his adult teeth were coming in, so it was monitored for a while. However, at just 10 months old, it was recommended he get a cleaning, which is highly unusual in a cat so young. As of right now, we and the vets cannot say if this is from a virus or a more serious health issue. Due to his mouth issues, he does prefer a wetfood diet. For this reason, any adopter will have to take him for regular checkups and dental care. Ashton would make a great emotional support animal for anyone not afraid of the costs of his diet and potential health issues.
