About Shiner

This adorable guy is Shiner. He is a 5 year old Australian Cattledog mix who weighs about 55 pounds. Shiner knows lots of commands:��%BD%A0Sit, down, come, leave it, heel, go around, place, and crate. He also knows how to shake with either paw. Shiner is house and crate trained. Shiner is an active, happy, playful dog who loves to fetch and play in the water (click on the red YouTube button to see Shiner at the beach.) He is looking for a home with a yard and someone active who can keep him busy. Shiner is good on leash and, after some initial excitement, good in the car. He is ready for any adventure. Then, when the fun is done for the day, Shiner is ready to settle down for the evening. Shiner is a polite boy who doesn't jump on furniture and knows to sit/wait for his dinner. He also knows to sit and wait before going outside or getting a leash put on. Shiner is good with most other dogs. He is a good guy at daycare and normally nice at dog parks. However, when he is on a walk he will bark back if a dog barks at him first! Shiner is a typical Cattledog in that he prefers a polite introduction. He can be protective of his home. He isn't a fan of delivery people stopping by. However, once he knows someone, he is a friend. Shiner likes chew toys and is very treat motivated. He will appreciate an active owner who likes Cattledog quirks and has a yard. Shiner is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. He is located in Santa Monica, CA. Adopters must be able to meet and adopt here. We do not ship our dogs. A home visit and vet reference are required.
