About Lacey

Adoption Fee: $100
Maine Coon / Domestic Cat
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

Hello! My name is Lacey, and I'm a sweet, affectionate, quiet, and undemanding gray 'tuxedo' tabby Maine Coon/ Domestic Long Hair mix gal who was born in May 2016. I'm exquisitely beautiful eye-candy -- from my dreamy gold eyes and angelic face, framed by a full facial ruff, to the tip of my big, fluffy tail. I'm extremely friendly with my foster meowmy and thrive on her loving attention. I adore our one-on-one times together when she brushes and scratches me all over. Foster Meowmy loves my unusually soft, silken meow. However, ever since my days as a kitten, I've been cautious, shy, and skittish by nature. I guess you'd say that I have the 'fear gene' because I hide when guests come over. I do eventually come out when things are quiet again, but any quick movements from selfsame company scare me, and I'll high-tail it under the bed again. I was even a little shy when I first arrived in my foster home but warmed up quickly once I got acclimated to my quiet surroundings. I love cuddling with my foster meowmy and watching TV now that I have gotten to know her. I just need someone who will be patient with me and give me some time to get adjusted to my new 'digs.' I'd relish receiving a little extra TLC in the beginning so that I can get to know and trust my new human. And then I am all yours! Because of my timidity issues, Foster Meowmy thinks that my next home should be limited to metro-Houston only. I had been adopted through Buster's Friends by a young couple when I was kitten, and I was happy when the only pets were me and an older female kitty. Unfortunately she died, and I didn't like the whipper-snapper male kitten whom they adopted to replace my old friend. I was fine when my family had their first baby, but then the second baby put me over the top. I hid all the time and only surfaced to eat or use my litter box, so my humans decided I'd be happier in a quieter, less chaotic home. True confessions, I had a medical issue when I first arrived in my foster home. I suffered from upper respiratory issues - which could've been exacerbated by the stress of my rehoming - that caused severe sneezing, a watery nasal discharge, and my right eye's being weepy and crusty. Since the vet cleaned my teeth and gave me an antibiotic injection, my respiratory infection has much improved. Although I still sneeze occasionally, Foster Meowmy dispenses over-the-counter lysine and FortaFlora daily, and the combination seems to keep my upper respiratory issues under control. Fortunately through all this, I maintained a voracious appetite which contradicts my femininity and shows me to be an otherwise healthy girl. I hope that my cherubic face and sad story have plucked your heart strings and that you'll arrange to meet me today. I'm sure that I'll be in kitty heaven as you try your hand at brushing and petting me, and who knows if I'll whisper sweet meow-nothings in your ears? Lacey is updated on shots, spayed, dewormed, microchipped, FIV/ FeLV negative, and ready for her indoor-only home. Her adoption fee is $100, cash or check payable to Buster's Friends.
