11 month old Frankie is on a list to be euthanized at a high kill shelter for being stressed being locked up in a kennel for days!!! * Frankie made friends with volunteers & staff & showed how dog-friendly he is. He has many meets on file. Frankie also showed how smart he is with recollection of 4-5 commands. Smarty pants! * Frankie loves car rides, long walks & adventures. He has embraced new dogs, experiences & new people. * While at the shelter, Frankie is on 200 mg trazadone to help w/anxiety. * Frankie was adopted for a few weeks to an adult-only home w/a doggie sibling but was returned. Since being back at the shelter, he's back on 200 mg trazadone & hanging out w/his Vol & doggie friends once again * At no fault of Frankie, he did not get a timely vet appt nor supply of trazadone when he was adopted which could have helped his transition to home-life * Recently, we noticed that Frankie is sensitive to touch especially in body & hind areas. This poor boy flinches & shows discomfort but we found his head area seemed comfortable w/pets & touches. It's that this affectionate, kissing fool (seen in his dog meets) is sensitive to touch & cuddles. * it was recommended to keep Frankie on trazadone & be made avail for adoption or rescue w/appropriate counseling. *It's possible Frankie may need to be on meds his entire life - He's only 1 yo. I realize the commitment for a rescue or foster for Frankie may be significant as he has some needs. His transformation has also been significant - from hair loss & kennel depression to showing me & others his smart, affectionate, & social self, I just adore him & hope his story brings a special someone forward.
