Hugh (Hughy, HooHoo or Huguenaut as my foster family calls) me is my name! I'm an older gentleman but I'm a calm, cool and collected older dude. Not at all your typical cranky old man. I'm game to try new things as long as it's at a slower pace. For instance, I really like to play with my younger canine foster siblings, but my play is wagging my tail, baying happily and pawing at the air. Every now and then I'll trot a little. My foster sister wants to pounce and play rough and tumble. That's a bit young whipper snapper for me, but I'm cool. I don't get grumpy, I just stop so she walks by me, change directions or ignore her completely so she moves on. There are furry rodent like foster siblings in my foster home too. Cats, I believe they are called. There's one who I try to play with sometimes because I see my other foster sibs doing the same, but I figured out that he taunts us dogs and then gets all means and hisses and shows claws if we follow him to play. I don't know what game he's playing, but that's one game this old dog isn't willing to learn. There's a couple of other furry rodents with claws in the house too. They are friendly but I keep my distance just in case they want to play the same game as the other cat. I have human foster siblings too. A boy and a girl. I really like the girl because she pats my head and rubs the area right at the top of my nose between my eyes. It puts me to sleep. The boy is nice too, but the girl gives me a lot more attention so I prefer her. Speaking of sleep....I fall asleep standing up every now and then. It happens when I lay my head in human laps and they put their hands on my head. It's so calming and just lulls me right into dreamland. If I could have a perfect day I'd spend it just chilling sleeping on my blanket or being patted on the head while resting it on a lap. I'd have some food and water, maybe some other food if I could get away with it, but so far my fosters only give me dog treats, not their human treats. I try to be good and cute while they eat hoping they'll share, but no luck yet. I typically give up and go find a place nearby and lay down just in case they change their mind about sharing. I went to the doc shortly after being sprung from the pound and she gave me a clean bill of health. I'm utd on my vaccines and heartworm preventative too. If you are looking for a mushmallow as my foster mom calls me, I'm the boy for you! If you'd like to meet me to see if we'd be a good match, fill out an adoption application and an adoption coordinator will be in touch. Thank you for your interest in me!
