About Girlie

Hello lovely folks! My name is Girlie, and I am a super special little girl - my foster mommy says so! You see, I have a neurological disorder which causes me to circle when I am stressed, and it also affects my vision, and I am not able to go up and down steps. I am also not able to tell you when I want to go outside to potty so as soon as I wake up, I need to be taken out. What I love most is to be cuddled, but I am such an independent lady that I have to talk to you when you pick me up. Foster mom says I am all talk and no bite. Okay, so cuddles are something I love, but FOOD - now there is the way to my heart. I get so excited for dinner or a treat that I will do a dance for you. I would also like my person to be around most of the time because I am foster mom's shadow and I love togetherness. Do I sound like the special Girlie for you? I sure hope so!! Girlie is a 3- to 4-year-old Miniature Pinscher who is spayed, microchipped, and current on vaccines The reason for the neurological problems is unknown but most symptoms are well managed with trazodone. She is unable to jump on furniture or navigate steps due to limited depth perception, and when she is picked up, she will growl and show teeth but has never bitten. Girlie sleeps in a crate at night but is not completely crate trained. She has a very definite schedule for her potty needs - 3 to 4 hours after a meal and/or as soon as she wakes from a nap, she needs to be taken out to avoid an accident. She is good with other dogs but mostly ignores them. Girlie would not be recommended to be in a home with young children because of her special needs.
