Meet Sammy, he is just an all-around good boy!! He is approx. 5-years-old, 60 - 55 pounds, yellow lab mix, house trained, not a fan of crates but is trustworthy in the house. Sammy originally was owner surrendered because his family had financial issues due to Covid, so we rehomed him. We thought we had placed him in his forever home, but what was once a stay-at-home mom situation is now working and Sammy is having a hard time adjusting to not having anyone at home. His current family wrote, 'Sammy needs to be in a home where people are mostly present. He does love his people and seeks their attention and affection. He's great with kids and loves car rides and playing outside. He also loves getting up on the couch and snuggling with you. I think he's a great dog and just deserves a better house where people are present most of the day.' Sammy LOVES going for walks and is excellent on a leash, he has good stamina and is very mobile. Sammy truly loves people, is good with children, good with other dogs and cats. He has mastered the commands come, sit, down, and understands no. If he gets on the couch, you say no, and he will get off and go to his pillow or bed. Even if he is tracking the family cat if you say, come to Sammy, he will do it. He loves hanging out with people and would like to have someone home most of the day. He is not noisy so he makes a good office mate. He needs a family that will include him in family activities and can give him plenty of attention. He plays with people and toys. A fenced yard is needed for play but also for exploring. Sammy also needs a family that will exercise him daily. He has a medium energy level and a laid-back easy-going attitude. When you are eating Sammy will watch every bite you take, but you must be strong and resist his sweet face. If you leave food where he can easily get it, well he may just get it, so keep your counters clear. If you like kisses, Sammy is your man, he will happily give you as many as you would like. Families with toddlers are forewarned, toddlers will be kissed, and we imagine he will camp out under the highchair. He is very obedient so if you work with him this may be a non-issue. He'd like to sleep with a family member but will also be happy to sleep beside your bed.
