About Declan

Meet the one and only Declan!!! He's a 1 1/2 year old beagle who's ready for his Forever Home. He loves people of all shapes & sizes and is very outgoing. Like all beagles, he's very inquisitive & busy; following interesting scents in the yard or gnawing on busy bones or going on long walks are some of his favorite pastimes. But once he's tired, he relishes in a relaxing evening on the sofa getting plenty of ear scratches. Although he grew up in a home without other dogs, he's quickly learned canine social skills with the other dogs in his foster home and has adjusted well to being part of a pack. Declan could easily be an only dog or join a home with another dog; he's very adaptable. He is crated when his foster mom is gone so he doesn't get into mischief as many beagles do; he will counter surf if given the opportunity; but he sleeps on a doggy bed through the night in his foster mom's bedroom with no problems. Declan has no problems sharing attention or the sofa with all his doggy siblings; he's doing; he's really amazing considering he didn't have doggy social skills when he arrived - but he's a quick learner! He also is very eager to please and smart; basic obedience classes would be a great opportunity to learn together with Declan. He does already know 'sit' and is very proud of this! If you would like to adopt Declan, please let us know! He will require a fenced in yard.
