Hermey is a small/medium dog of about 25 lbs; likely a min pin/rat terrier mix. He likes to play and snuggle and is super fun to train! He is clicker-trained and loves to work for almost any kind of food. He is also crate-trained; he loves his crate and will run to it when told 'go to bed.' When Hermey is on a regular meal schedule, his 'potty times' are very predictable, although at his current home he does wear a belly band to keep him from marking (he tries this rarely). He is a bit wary of new people, and prefers women. He has been successfully introduced to adult men and women, as well as an older child at his current home. He may get along with other older children with the right disposition. Whenever he meets new people, he needs to be introduced at his own pace and with positive reinforcement techniques. We have been successful with this approach so far! Hermey loves to protect the house and does tend to bark quite a bit when people approach or walk by. We are working on this behavior, as it can be disruptive. He has been successfully cohabitating with the elderly female dog at his current home, but he may be best as an only pet. He is very much not fond of cats. He would be best in a home where folks are comfortable doing continued training and socialization with him. In lieu of a rehoming fee, I am requesting a proven commitment to work with a certified trainer who uses positive reinforcement techniques. I am dedicated to finding him a suitable home. Please understand that rehoming Hermey may be a drawn-out process, but this is simply because making an appropriate match will be important for his continued success. https://www.facebook.com/maryman/posts/10159913359364669
