***Please read below for information about sweet Oat of this Swirled. For additional information and to complete an application to adopt, please see her webpage at: https://ophrescue.org/dogs/10970 *** Hi, my name is Oat of this Swirled and I'm part of the Ice Cream themed transport. I'm named after a Ben and Jerry's flavor. I'm guessed to be a shepherd mix and about 50 lbs. I'm a sweet girl and I am 6 years old. I'm currently staying with my foster parents and my foster brother and sister. My foster family have been very kind and patient with me and in return I give them sooo many cuddles. I also try my very best to please them by learning all their commands quickly and they give me yummy treats in return! I was pulling on my leash really hard, but now I know I shouldn't do that. I sometimes forget when I get excited or see something distracting, but they help remind me and help me to stay calm with MORE yummy treats. I'm learning how to 'sit.' I'm REALLY good at it!! They tell me I'm such a good girl! Especially when I do this thing called, 'potty' outside. My foster Mom becomes really happy and gives me lots of treats. I think Im getting the hang of it. I enjoy naps just as much as chewing a bone or playing with a soft toy. Im not sure about playing with my foster siblings just yet. I havent tried to engage them and they don't seem to mind me in their home. I'm not too fond of being left alone or put into that box thing. But those yummy treats make such a difference!! Im in need of a human to trust and to teach me how good of a dog I can be. I want a human or a family of my own to please, love and make proud. (This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito producing a positive test in six months. OPH will treat the dog and provide two weeks of recovery time prior to adoption. Potential adopters will receive detailed information on the disease and their role in completing the recovery process from OPH's heartworm coordinator. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable.Oat of this Swirled is up-to-date on her vaccinations and has been spayed. Oat of this Swirled is currently being fostered in Churchton, MD. All adult dogs, cats, and kittens are altered prior to adoption. Puppies too young to be altered at the time of adoption must be brought to our partner vet in Davidsonville, MD for spay or neuter paid for by Operation Paws for Homes by 6 months of age. Adopters may choose to have the procedure done at their own vet before 6 months of age and be reimbursed the amount that the rescue would pay our partner vet in Davidsonville. This dog's bio is based off the experiences of the foster and/or volunteers of OPH as well as any information that we received from the shelter or previous owner. This is very important because it means that while they may act one way in the foster's home, you may experience something different in your home.) ***For additional information and to complete an application to adopt, please see Oat of this Swirled's webpage at: https://ophrescue.org/dogs/10970 ***
