About Tia

Adoption Fee: $100
Australian Cattle Dog
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

Tia is about 8yrs old and spayed. Her father was a full blooded red heeler, mother was full blooded blue heeler. Beautiful and perfect markings. Unfortunately many behavioral and temperament flaws. Not good with cats, small breed dogs or other small animals. Very selective on larger dogs, generally does not get along with other females. We have 2 other dogs (male pit bulls) she gets along with one but constantly fights with the other. I would recommend only dog home. How she is with children just depends. She barks and chases sometimes (she will nip in attempt to heard, but rarely bites kids). She is timid with men but listens better to them. Females she is not as mean to but does not listen as good. Whoever Tia goes to needs to be familiar with the breed. They need go understand she is a troubled child that needs work. She has never gotten the chance to be the dog she should be... she has always been a room dog. Due to the way she behaves we do not trust her around people, kids, animals... really at all. We have tried training, we got her fixed, we have tried several different shock collars, spray bottles, etc. Nothing seems to work. At this time we are living in a bedroom with 3 large dogs and 3 humans. She is locked up all of the time due to fighting with one of our other dogs. I cannot risk her injuring myself or my child when attacking or when I am splitting up the fight. She cannot roam the house because she fights with the homeowners dog and goes after the cats. She gets minimal time outside and she is always leashed since she will go after any living being with ill intent. She has broke countless collars (metal, chokers etc) to go after whatever or whoever it is she wants. We have done everything in our power. The only other thing left to do is find someone that has a better fitting situation for her and her needs... She needs someone experienced with the breed. Someone with the time and patience needed to train her. Someone with land! Someone with no cats, no small breed dogs or other small animals that she could get to. Adoption fee can be waived for the right individual. Vet reference will be required... she does need vaccines updated. Prefer to bring her to you so we can see the environment shes going to, to ensure it'll be a good fit and not another situation like what she's in now. Email or text only. I will not answer phone calls.
