About Kodi

COURTESY POST Kodi is a beautiful, tan and white male, who was born 04/23/2019. He has had a bit of a rough start to life, until coming to our home. He was taken in by a good couple after seeing him be neglected by a coworker. Kodi is about 2 years old and is the smartest boy! He is potty trained (although when you first meet him he may tinkle out of excitement when you come home), crate trained, and knows Sit, Shake, and Lay Down. His previous owners left him in the crate for 12+ hours at a time, so until he is comfortable at first with that being his safe space when he feels anxious. He rides wonderfully in the car although may try to love you the entire way. He is a fast learner and walks good, although can use some improvement when you pass others and his excitement takes over. He is not good with other dogs to our knowledge, although we have not tested it out enough. Because of his former neglect and abuse at the dog park, Kodi is a very hesitant with strangers and little kids. He has lived in an apartment building where he struggles with others in the elevator, although he has made significant progress and can now hangout in there with others! He has been working on his reactions to other things, which manifests into alert barking and protecting his people. His separation anxiety can kick into high gear, but once he learns to trust you and that you come back home he is great left alone. Kodi will need a strong(er) leader and someone who is committed to work with and continue the training he's been receiving in our home. Kodi will also need an active household that will continue to exercise this young, energetic Aussie. His favorite pastimes are playing fetch with tennis balls and squeaky toys, although he hasn't learned to let go of the ball quite yet. He LOVES tug of wars and snuggles and hugs. Kodi is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, and microchipped. Kodi is currently living in Milwaukee, WI.
