About Baby

This darling double-masked girl is Baby, an 8 year old Australian Cattledog gal with a cute little docked tail. She is a little one, weighing maybe 30 pounds. Baby was very much loved by her first family and needed to come to rescue due to unforeseen circumstances. Baby is sweet, good with small animals, and has a funny little 'veer to the right' way about her. Baby has a clean bill of health (clean full body x-rays, clean bloodwork, etc.) so we aren't sure exactly why she tends to tilt her head to the right and walk slightly to the right. It's neurological and doesn't need any special treatment. She is darling, healthy, and happy just like she is! Baby is good on leash and good in the car. She enjoys going for walks and can easily do 1-2 miles (click on red YouTube button to see her on a walk). Baby knows her name and comes when called, especially is she gets some love when she obeys. She also knows sit and has such a cute way of sliding into a sit. Baby is crate trained and goes right in when asked. She is also house trained, letting you know she needs out by turning in circles near the door. Baby is good with other dogs of all sizes and should be good with cats. She has lived with other Cattledogs, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, and even a bossy Border Collie. She is also friendly with everyone she has met so far. Baby will appreciate another mellow dog and even a home with older kids who won't be rambunctious with her. She would love a yard to explore. She also likes to snap at flies and try to catch them. She can go up and down quite a few steps, but will not do well in a two story home. She is definitely stable on surfaces like hardwood and tile. Baby will take a day or two to open up to her new family. After that, she will prompt you if she thinks it's time for you to give her more attention! She does walk in a few happy circles when extra happy, like when you come home, and also gives happy tail wags. She will roll over to make sure you give her belly rubs. Baby doesn't need any special medical care, just someone who makes sure she has love and gets to have fun. Baby is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. She is located in SoCal. Adopters must be able to meet and adopt here. We do not ship our dogs. A home visit and vet reference are required.
