About TUMBO

SPECIAL NEEDS TUMBO is FINALLY at a healthy weight and has been neutered! We believe he is ready for his forever home!! TUMBO is a 1 year old blind chug, but gets around great! He is sweet, and cries when he wants attention! He rolls on you, wiggles his whole body, loves stretching out and rolling in the grass and loves sitting on your lap, listening to the neighborhood. We drink coffee together every morning! TUMBO has diabetes that requires insulin shots twice a day. We believe that he is stabling out, but the vets and foster mom are more than willing to go over his specific signs when his blood sugar starts getting out of whack. TUMBO's medicines and supplies will be ~$50 a month. He's on regular dog food, so no expensive specialty diets. However, a diabetic dog means no treats, or extras, and especially no sneaking people food. TUMBO's negatives....if anyone knows what a typical pug or chihuahua is like�'�| you'll understand. He is DRAMA! He HATES his injections. He SCREAMS like he's being murdered even before you poke him. �٪� once you poke, he immediately stops. He just likes to cause a scene. TUMBO will do best in a calm home. He loves kids, but they can be too fast and he gets in the way and run over. He doesn't mind other dogs or cats, but, again, because he's blind, he prefers to hang out with you or alone. An ideal home for TUMBO will have someone home most of the time and has two people that are comfortable holding and injecting him. BACKGROUND: Entered the rescue in early May as a 5.8-pound, emaciated stray on death's door and given the name PUGGIE. He was just a pup, blind, and level 0 on the body scale because of uncontrolled diabetes. With proper vet care and a loving foster family, this sweet boy overcame certain death.
