Anatolian Shepherd / Great Pyrenees
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Female

This puppy is in New Castle, DE If you're interested in this puppy, please contact the foster directly by texting or calling Denise at 610-656-1291 or email [email protected] The litter of 8 'Water-Pups' are a best-guess breed of Great Pyrenees /Anatolian Shepherd mix. They are estimated to be 12 weeks old and will be listed as being a 'large' breed. When full grown their weight might be 70+ pounds. The smallest pup weighs 16 pounds and the largest pup weighs 21 pounds. They were rescued in Alabama. These puppies have settled in at their fosters home in Delaware Friday July 23 and are starting their search for the best people to love them for the rest of their lives. The Great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd combination breed is a calm, well-mannered, serious dog known for their great devotion to family, including well-behaved children. This breed is loving with family, including the children, with whom they're calm and protective. But because of their large size, they're probably better suited to families with older children. These dogs are generally trustworthy, affectionate and gentle, but if the need arises, they will not hesitate to try to protect their family and their territory. A majestic-looking dog with a kindly, regal expression, they are calm, composed, and serious. As an adult, they are quiet indoors and content with long daily walks and regular opportunities to stretch out. They do love to romp in the snow, and pulling a cart or carrying a backpack gives him a purpose in life. You won't have much luck with invisible fences either. The Pyrenees have an incredibly high pain tolerance and won't think twice about the shock. If you don't have a fence, you'll need to be able to commit to leash walking and other safe ways to exercise your dog. A trait of Great Pyrenees is they lean on you, he or she is getting as close to you as possible. A smaller breed dog can achieve this closeness by sitting in your lap, but the Great Pyrenees can't quite fit all of himself or herself up there. Instead, the dog gives you his or her weight by leaning it against your leg or side. The adoption fee is $350 for this pup which includes; 1st round of shots, a $25 spay/neuter 'refund-voucher' for when the procedure is done. There is also an ASPCA insurance pamphlet that you can activate if you choose. All of our puppies are vaccinated, vet checked, dewormed, and health certified prior to traveling to Delaware. Please ask about our Starter Kits and crates that we have available at all locations. Fur Ever Paws Dog Rescue is a small no kill rescue operating in the Delaware/Maryland area. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit that rescues and places homeless, neglected or abused dogs from high-kill shelters in the south into loving, responsible committed and permeant homes. We feel our comprehensive adoption process which includes not only taking the time to match the dog to the prospective new owner but helping to educate that owner in responsible dog care, allows us to find the best homes for our little buddies and the best companions for you! Each week we use USDA certified transports to bring dogs from high-kill shelters in the south to our fosters where they all receive the appropriate medical care and are placed in nurturing loving homes while they await placement in their forever homes. Whoever is fostering that particular dog will do a short over the phone interview to complete your application process. If everything works out, they will set an appointment with you so come out and 'visit' with the dog you're interested in (we want to make sure that not only are you a good fit for the dog but that the dog will fit with you). If everything works out you'll be able to take rover (or spot, or jax) home with you that very day. A couple of things you should know: * We can't hold dogs over the phone or via email. * Adoption fees vary based on breed * All of our dogs have been vet checked and dewormed (if possible due to age, additional treatment may be needed) * We also provide a $25 spay or neuter voucher to all of our adopters.
