Grrrrr......my name is Grizzly! But don't worry, I won't bite! I'm a 70 pound coonhound who is about 4 years old and I'd be happy laying on your couch or exporing in the woods! I came to Augusta Dog Adoptions because the shelter I was in got full and didn't have room for me anymore. Now, I'm just waiting for someone to choose me to be their best boy! Like most hound dogs, I would enjoy a fenced yard to sniff and smell around in. I also like other dogs and jumping in cars to go for adventures. I also like to eat so be sure to stock up on lots of cookies if you want to bring me home. Yeah, you could put me on a diet or just let me be the happy, gummy bear I am! Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and are scheduling individual adoptions in the Waynesboro, VA area during the pandemic. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
