About Chance, the PlayBoy

Lab mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Howdy! I'm Chance, a fun-loving, talkative, ultra-sweet 40-pound Fox Red Labrador mix fella with a sleek, golden-red coat who was born in August 2019. Fox Red labs are essentially a dark-shaded version of the classic yellow lab. Remember that the sweet-faced, lovable Labrador Retriever is America's most popular dog breed. We're friendly, outgoing, and high-spirited companions who have more than enough affection to go around for a family looking for a medium-sized dog. I'm brimming with playful energy because I'm still a teenager, and there's not a mean bone in my body. I love to play, play, play with people as well as other dogs. I may be initially shy when I meet you, but that soon fades once I get to know and bond with you. During the initial period when I'm adjusting to my new home, I need people to be slow and steady when interacting with me. For Pete's sake, I came from a 'trailer trash' family where I may have been abused, so I don't trust strangers when they rush me or make quick movements around me. For this reason, my home should have well-behaved older children. Once I'm no longer reserved because we've gotten acquainted, then I'm all yours! I was abandoned by my previous owners when they moved away, but a Good Samaritan noticed my plight and brought me to Miss Donna to help find me a loving family this time around. I need a fresh start in life, so she named me 'Chance.' Let's write a new chapter in our lives together! Come meet me today! Chance is updated on shots, neutered, dewormed, microchipped, heartworm negative, and fully trained. His adoption fee is $250. An application must be filled out prior to adoption. Based on their needs, likes, and personalities, all dogs receive individualized training plans to learn skills that will help them find and keep their homes. Some dogs participate in shy dog classes, where they can meet other pups and encounter items like a noisy vacuum to help them get used to those things. Some dogs work on mastering basic cues like 'sit' and 'stay' and walking on a loose leash. Others simply play games and get cuddle time. No matter the plan, the goal is the same: to help every dog be happy.
