Ritten ACCT-A-90909 Dog - Mixed Breed (Medium) Sex : Male Age : 4Y / 2M Weight : 35.80 lbs Location: Large Dog Kennel, Housebroken, Single Dog Home Ritten is an adult, male, medium mixed breed dog who has had multiple stays in the shelter, beginning in May 2021. He has spent time in the shelter, as well as adoptive and foster homes. He was originally found as a stray. Ritten has had good interactions in the shelter, described by a volunteer as 'goofy entertainment, playful, and easy to walk on leash. He has successfully met another dog, however appears dog selective. He has also had several incidents that make him a poor candidate for adoptive placement directly from the shelter, and after his most recent, he urgently needs to leave the shelter , may have some fear based sensitivities to males . AdThese altercation may have been influenced by resources (toys and a bed), however the intensity, especially of the second such incident, is concerning. Ritten would do best in an experienced, female foster home, ideally with no other pets or with pets in which triggers are eliminated and there is an ability to keep them separate when they cannot be closely monitored. Today was my first interaction with him and in a secret way hope not my last! Today he was ball crazy - not fetch- but rather determined to carry the big yard balls around that were the size of him. He was determined to be able to pick it up and he did! He ran the yard with pride once he decided which ball to carry. After spending some time on the other side of the yard laying in the grass with his ball, he will come running to the other (toy in mouth) to come check in with you and play by you before returning again. Ritten is a dog who can play by himself or you. If you're too busy - he's totally cool with it. In and out of his kennel was a breeze with him. He walks well on his leash without pulling. If you're looking for a goofy, friendly dog he is my top recommendation at the moment after today 6/21. Run to the Rescue where love and peace will follow . Please contact Kat to save 516 457-3678. Will transport to neighboring states .
