About Diamond

Hello, there! My name is Diamond and I'm a 68 pounds of beautiful bluetick who is about 6 years old. I have to tell you a story about kindness and luck. I came from a hunting background but I was lucky enough to be owned by hunters who didn't throw me away because of my needs. They wanted what was best for me so they go me to ADA. See... I had a mass on my back leg and it was cancer. So ADA got tha lopped off for me and it's not likely to cause me anymore trouble. Now, let's retrain you brains to think about how hunting dogs can hit right into your living rooms because we can! I am kind and gentle and I love other dogs. I thrive on attention and pats on the head and if you call me 'good boy' my heart just leaps! I know some hunting dogs are wound up nightmares but that's not me! I want to be with you and please and take my poos outside for you! I'm focused on you and making you happy, not running round killin' stuff! I am a Diamond in the Ruff! Ruff! Ruff! and I'm ready to shine! In your house! In your living room! Maybe all curled up in your bed?! But my days on the chain are all behind me and it's all up hill from here! Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and are scheduling individual adoptions in the Waynesboro, VA area during the pandemic. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
