About Mia & Beasty

Meet Beasty and Mia! Beasty is a 4-year-old chihuahua mix and Mia is an 8-year-old chihuahua and is also Beasty's mother. These sweeties are looking for a very special forever home together. Their owner several months agon and since then they have been living with his sister. Although she loves them dearly, she realizes that she cannot give them everything that they need, either emotionally or financially, so she reached out to Sophia's Grace Foundation for help in getting them vetted and finding them a loving forever home. Tragically, Beasty and Mia's deceased owner was a cruel man and treated them very unkindly, yelling at them daily, and yes, sadly, physically abusing them as well. Because of this, both dogs are still recovering from the abuse. It took their current caregiver a few months before she could even pick them up, but now that they have had a taste of love and affection, they crave it! Neither dog was ever socialized either, so they are very skittish with strangers, so a quiet forever home without a lot of people coming and going would be best. As you can see from the photo, both dogs also need to lose weight, but foster mom is working on it! They LOVE to walk and are great on a leash, so an adopter that would love a couple of walking buddies would be perfect, and that would help melt that weight off as well. Mia does have 2 rear luxating patellas which are being controlled with meds and she will have much needed dental prior going to her forever home. We realize it is a big ask to take on not one, but two, formerly abused and emotionally damaged dogs, but it in the end they will be well worth it and will repay you with love and adoration. So, if you are kind, gentle and have an abundance of patience, these two might be the perfect pair. No small children, please.
