This sweet boy wandered up into my sister's yard last week and we have been unable to find his home. My sister lives pretty far out in the country, on Belleville Road between Orangeburg and St. Matthews, near Jamison. I think he had been out for a while. He was pretty dirty, and had a couple stiff/sore legs. He had no collar. My sister took him to the vet to see if he was chipped, but he was not. He looks pretty young. He is very subservient to people; and he is friendly with other dogs, for the most part. The main problems I have observed are two things. 1. He is protective of food. 2. He is protective of affection. He is now all clean and happy, after several good long baths. He had some fleas, and ticks. One Flea/tick/heartworm medication was given 7/19. I also gave him a Capstar pill 7/20. The fleas are looking dead now, and we're down to a few ticks. He is very affectionate to dogs and people of all ages. He is protective of his food around other dogs, but not people. He is not neutered. About 40ish pounds. I think he is still a bit of a puppy. Still likes to chew. He listens pretty well. I don't think he is trained, but he picked up commands very quickly. He has been at our home for a few days, but we cannot keep him. I think he would be fine in a one-dog home, or in a multi-dog home that was able to train him well.
