About Vader

This is Vader! We adopted him from a shelter in October 2020. He's 17 months old now, 65 pounds, and we believe a Belgian Malinois/GSD mix. He came to us with very little training, and while we've tried several different training routes for him, he is struggling with reactivity (people, dogs, squirrels). His typical responses are lunging, barking, and biting (if we get in the way). Additionally, Vader has had 2 medical emergencies during his time with us: January 2021 stomach surgery because he swallowed 2(!) tennis balls, April 2021 stitches in multiple areas of right paw because he punched through a glass door frame (he has a small bump on right paw from this injury healing weird. It does not affect his running/jumping. We really want to help him, but feel finding a more experienced owner is now how we can help him best. We know he has a lot of potential either for sports or as a working dog, but needs someone who can work more with him on his reactive tendencies first.
