About Jango

We are cross posting Jango for his owner. This is the information they provided us. He needs an owner experienced with reactive dogs (herding breeds) I adopted him in July of 2016 from a local shelter after they had originally rescued him from abuse. He was scarred on his head which eventually healed and is no longer noticeable. He has been a very smart and loyal dog throughout the time we've had him. He's very high energy and loves to run the perimeter of the yard keeping watch. He's independent, house trained and doesn't destroy anything in the house, he won't steal food from the counter even though he's very tall and easily could(This has always impressed me). He can get along with small dogs but we don't think he'd do well with cats. He does have issues with anxiety, he guards his food and is very intense(Introducing him to new dogs is a process) and dominant over some dogs and certain people. He barks at dogs on the TV and is difficult to walk as he barks at every dog and human we see. On car rides he has anxiety but we've found blindfolding him works well and he usually stays very calm when we do so. Unfortunately he has nipped and bit before. We're starting a new family and we believe its best that he find a home more suited for him. We do believe he can be trained as we've made progress throughout the years but he has outgrown our home and could benefit for more space to run and someone who can handle his behavior. *** Please note, this dog is not in our rescue however I am committed to assisting his new owner with free training as needed***** Our rescue is NOT liable for any of the information provided
