About HAPPY

Courtesy Posting: DEAR HAPPY IN LA COUNTY SHELTER - PLEASE HELP US FIND AN ADOPTER, FOSTER AND/OR RESCUE FOR THIS DEAR SENIOR CHOW/GOLDEN MIX BOY - WE WANT TO TURN HIS LIFE AROUND! HAPPY - ID #A5427097 Castaic Shelter, Castaic, So Cal Please help us find a good home or foster asap for this dear boy we are fondly calling 'Happy' who was dumped to an LA County kill shelter along with his friend, a senior basset hound mix (his friend was just rescued), despite living most of his life being a devoted pet. Happy is said to be a 12 year old chow (maybe mixed with golden retriever?) who lived indoors and is potty trained. The shelter says he weighs 65 lbs and adds 'he walks well' . Volunteers love this boy and we have videos of him sitting on command for attention, and taking treats gently. Sadly, it appears his prior owner neglected him; he came in with abrasions to his front paws, a mass on his leg and what appears to be a fatty tumor near his groin, and never neutered. Although he lived with a small male dog for many years, this happy boy was already tested with other larger dogs and prefers female dogs not surprisingly. Happy is currently available for public adoption, but we are also looking for a foster as we anticipate he may need rescue asap.
