About Maple

Meet Maple! Maple is as sweet as her name suggests! This chocolate girl is approximately 2 years old, weighing 63 lbs. She's actually a little underweight and needs to gain at least a good 10 to 15 pounds! Where are our pre-approved families with children with stay-at-home moms?! This is the gal! Maple's most favorite thing to do is snuggle. She loves to rest her head in your lap and doze off. How precious! Maple is friendly with other dogs, people of all sorts, and kids of all ages! She has been living with a two-year-old child and has been great. Maple is amazingly gentle and loving towards the child, and the child's mom raves over how wonderful her demeanor is even during those inevitable toddler tantrums! Maple is potty trained and has had no accidents inside! Marvelous, Maple! Maple had never been introduced to a crate prior to being an SSLR pup although she was at a shelter for a short period with no mention of issues. She has been doing great in the house, but would definitely prefer a stay-at-home mom or family member so she doesn't have to get in that dreaded crate! This brave girl is working in small time increments to learn that it can be her safe space, but for now, she truly prefers to be close to her people! She has done great left in the house for short periods unattended with plenty of toys and after exercise. At bedtime, she will sleep on her doggy bed at the foot of the bed without making any fuss during the night! While the humans are away, Maple stays in a single room in the house, and has not been mischievous when left alone this way! She may not require a crate in her forever home, but she is still working hard on her crate skills to impress her new family! Maple needs a little prompting and assistance to 'load up' in the car, but once inside, she settles down in the backseat and is very calm during her ride! She enjoys her daily walks and tends to walk right beside her handler. Maple's desire to be close leads to this easy and natural 'heel', which allows even young children to be able to assist in exercising with her! Maple will be a delightful addition to a home that wants a calm, easygoing lovebug! She is easy: easy to love, easy to please, and easy to build a life with! She's ready to do all of the above with YOU! Maple has been fully medically vetted; spayed, up-to-date on all vaccines, heartworm tested negative, and placed on prevention plus microchipped.
